The applications administrator is responsible for design, integration, maintenance and support of all the components of an application and its associated infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish necessary Service Management procedures for support and application integration at our client’s
    > Service Management (ITIL) processes definition, specific to the application (Incident Mgt, Problem Mgt, Change Mgt)
    > Make sure of the set up of a monitoring specific to the application (availability & performance)
    > Make sure of cartography and CMDB update for all the application’s components
  • Ensure the application’s operational management and the administration of the application
    > Ensure the application administration (integration and parameterization of the product and its versions) and possibly intervene as person of contact with suppliers if it’s a product or software obtained by another part
    > Ensure coordination and follow-up of work-around research in case of ticket receipt following and incident on the application or its infrastructure (ITIL process of Mgt Incident)
    > Lead to root cause research for problems linked to the concerned application and its infrastructure (ITIL process of Mgt Incident)
    > For the concerned application and its infrastructure, follow the monitoring (availability and performance), implement the change requests, take part to the disaster recovery planning, follow the capacity plans (ITIL process of change/release/capacity/availability/continuity management)
  • Ensure forecasting management of the application’s technical environment
    >  Propose and coordinate the implementation of measures and technical means with the aim to ensure good functioning of the application and its infrastructure or to improve its architecture
    > Take part to the evaluation of risks and of the impact of changes on the application’s infrastructure elements
    > Follow the application’s evolution and the one of its technical resources and make recommendations regarding clients’ needs and the SLA
    > Elaborate capacity plans
    > Rethink the application’s design and update the technical documentation
    > Provide a technical support to developers and project managers (techniques)
    > Take part to the application’s test activities
    > Take part to the creation of reports determining maintenance activities status and SLA’s status

Key Experiences

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Good technical expertise to solve complex problems
  • Good ability to coordinate and assist customer service when there’re incidents or problems with tasks execution
  • Proved experience in tests and applications’ configuration


  • Linux/Windows environments (implementation and support)
  • Troubleshooting, performance, tuning and capacity management
  • Shell Script and/or Perl
  • Basic knowledge in databases and SQL language
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud platforms
  • Basic knowledge of application servers (JBoss, Weblogic)
  • Basic knowledge in application monitoring
  • Basic knowledge in networks

Soft skills

  • Result-oriented, client-oriented and sense of responsibilities
  • Ability to learn
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, control and adapt
  • Ability to socialize and negotiate
  • Ability to adapt self communication and interaction style

General knowledge of social security and eGovernment field is a plus.

You have to speak either french or dutch and a good passive knowledge of the other one. Passive knowledge of english  is also required.
